Don't know where and what i should start writing, so i thought i should just blog about my Bangkok trip with HuiYi back in May, 3 months ago. HAHAHAHA. What? better now than never rightttttttt
Headed to Bangkok second time this year and took the earliest flight, as usual. This Lee Hui Yi woke up at only 7.15am when we are suppose to meet at the airport at 7.30am. I got a feeling that shes not up yet when i got up but i thought nahhhh, she will be awake. HA! luckily i called her at 7.15 to check on her if not this trip will not have happened.
After about 2 hours on the flight of us just chatting away, we landed at Bangkok!!!! WOOOOHOOOOO *throws confetti*
Took BTS from the airport to our hotel. The weather is craaaaaaaazily hot. Checked into our hotel, Budacco and our room is in yellow!! Huiyi's favorite color!
Slacked a little at the hotel and off we go to our first stop:
We walked over to platinum to shop a little and we are quite sian cos their prices are quite high now. Headed to Pratunam market afterwards and bought very few items tho prices are cheaper there, i can't really "dig" any "gold" there. So we gave up awhile cos it was damn hot.
Tried this street food selling along Pratunam area.
not sure what it is but its like... ou lua? Super spicy version. I don't really fancy it.
Decided to go Union mall for the first time and its all good but prices are damn freaking crazily ex, i kid you not. Bought nothing but we did an almost classic manicure for only $3 hehehehehe
Cab over to Khao Shan to walk around and dinner. Saw this street stall that sells phad thai and bought a plate to share
Headed back to hotel after buying some toiletries from 7-11 because i will never bring any toiletries whenever i travel. Why waste your luggage space when you can just buy it at super cheap price there? right? ok ok, thats what i personally think.
Woke up super early the next day cos we are heading to HuaHin and the first train there was around 9am. The hotel's staffs are super friendly and nice, they helped us to check the timing and advised us what time to wake up etc etc. We thought we wouldnt have time for breakfast cos we have to catch the train but the staff insisted that we should eat something before we head there.
WHY SO CARING?!
Headed to Phetchaburi station via tuktuk to take their train to Hua Lam Pong railway station. Bought my fave mochi dunkin' donut to eat while we wait for the train. nom nom nom
TRAIN IS FINALLY HEREEEEEEEEE and we seated next to this bunch of auntie villagers who talk non- stop when the train havent even depart. Sigh we know we are gonna suffer the whole journey :(
So much to see while the train is moving. Theres lots of ghoats, horses and somecows!! Basically, things that you might not be able to see at Bangkok, you will get to see it here. Journey was super long and the train was damn stuffy!! We have to share seats with other Thai people there and i was sweating like siao.
I really don't understand how HuiYi managed to sleep most of the journey away because i cannot. I really really cannot. I kept looking at her hoping she will open her eyes so that we can talk but..... she didn't :(
Anyway, halfway through the journey, i started being real paranoid that we are on the wrong train cos it took super long! we were told it will take around 2 hours only but it exceeded. So its not wrong for me to be paranoid right?!
HuiYi then tried to ask the Thais beside me where we are but they can't understand what we are trying to say and we can't understand what they are talking about!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA those aunties beside us are laughing at us for sure.
After 4 freaking hours, we finally reached. *wipes sweat*
Took a cab to our hotel and look:
OUR ROOM DAMN SHIOK! theirs a balcony and there is a white horse not far away! MY PRINCE CHARMING IS COMING :') so happy that i booked a right one
Decided to check their nice pool out and take a dip (its a nicer way to say cam-whoring actually) since we have some time to kill before taking the hotel's shuttle bus to the city. In HuaHin, its not as easy to get a cab as how it is in Bangkok and the City area is daaaammmn far so a shuttle service is available at all hotel in HuaHin, i believe.
Went to check it out their beach there too. We have to sneak into The Hilton Hotel for a short cut to the beach. Its was quite a nice view, i'd say.
Then was an early dinner. Theres a few seafood restaurant all side by side so we didnt know which to choose and i didn't google before hand which was the best one so we just tried our luck and OMG. WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE.
Food was god damn freaking delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (They deserve lots of exclamation marks from me) And whats better? THERES FREE WIFI. wtf? too perfect ok! But the only thing thats not very good was their mojito. Very cheap but it's too strong. Or maybe, they are trying to get us drunk. hehhehheh watch too much dramas.
Walk over to their night market and walk around.
Didnt buy anything but Mango sticky rice back to the hotel for super and some snacks from 7-11. One thing about HuaHin that i like is that they are super laid back. Its a rural area in Thailand so you don't expect much shopping from here. Theres only one Starbucks and less than 3 Mcdonals (i think) out of the whole HuaHin.
My best buy from there? My Mango Sticky rice, $8 Maybelline's mascara and $6 Revlon lipstick at Watsons that i was looking for but all SG's Watsons didn't have that particular color anymore. HAPPY.
Next morning was breakfast by the pool, which is very instagram worthy.
Slacked a little before heading back to Bangkok. This time round, we took the van service back for 180Bhatt per person. MOST. WELL. SPENT. 180BHATT. EVER.
Though the journey is super bumpy and there's a sign that says "do not talk loudly" (super wtf, damn sian i can't talk), it has AIR-CON. So HuiYi and i slept through the whole bambambambambam (the bumpy sound, if you can't already tell) journey. After bout 2-3 hours later, we are back in Bangkok.
Headed back to hotel to check in and settle down first before heading to cafe hopping at Thong Lor.
Took the same cab as the one we took to Union mall during our first day and the cab driver ask for our Facebook upon reaching our location. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH not bad ah.
Went to Roast cafe first because we heard so much about it. Omg........ its damn disappointing. Food is more ex than usual but obviously i am willing to pay. But its just so lame. Aiya idk what to say la. We headed to Mr Jones Orphanage instead. Deserts there are so yummy!!!!! ok fine, i only tried one but one is enough to judge the rest!!!!!
Took a cab to siam centre to shop the night market after. I Love Siam night market. Theres quite a lot of stuffs to buy from Siam to MBK area. We then settled down at a random restaurant cos we were a little hungry.
Super love Thai milk tea!!!!! And that plate of fried golden mushroom is crazily yummy!!!! LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE.
We headed back to hotel to drop off our shopping loots first and then back down to have a full thai massage. As usual, Huiyi fell asleep. Seriously?! The masseuses are cracking our bones but she still managed to sleep.
Day 3 ended with us buying instant basil chicken rice, hotdog cake sandwhich and egg rice from 7-11 back to our hotel room for supper because the hotel's kitchen was closed by the time we're back. But hey, im not complaining cos the food is cheap and crazily yummy! *rubs tummy*
Day 4 was just heading back to Platinum and Siam Paragon/centre for last minute shopping and spending all our Thai bhatt. Really thought i wouldn't overspend this trip but dengdengdengdeng, i went to exchange extra Thai Bhatt HAHAHAHAHA.
In short, I enjoyed the whole journey and how could i not? What is so fun about Bangkok? Well, cheap air ticket and like Mango sticky rice, Basil Chicken rice, Phad Thai and Tom Yum Goong, Bangkok will never never fail to put a smile on me. Things are cheap and people there are friendly. Did i mention a lot of people there thought i was from Thai? See? I'm even one of them already!
I will see you one last time before the year end, Bangkok. Nothing is confirmed yet but wait... you just wait.
I WILL BE BACK.
